Race day, so we took the morning off. We all ran the mile today. We did our warm up and some strides and I felt pretty good. It wasn't a qualifying meet, so I figured no one was going to run for time, just place, so my plan was just to tuck in and try to stay on the inside for the first few laps without letting the leaders get too far ahead of me, then use my kick on the last lap. The gun wouldn't fire for like the first 3 times so it took a while to start the race. Well the race went out exactly how I thought it would, and I tucked into about 5th or 6th place, pretty slow through 400, 1:12, and 800, 2:22, then we started to pick it up as people tried to get into position for the final lap, not sure what the split was for that lap. Ike and Josh ended up getting just a little too far out of my reach and I didn't have enough race left to beat them. I should've moved up a little more on the third lap, because I think I would've won had I been a little closer with 300 left. Not sure on the time, but I think someone said around 4:35, I will update it though when I figure out the official time. Pretty fun race even if it was a little slow. I felt relaxed and smooth so that was good. 2 miles tempo-ish afterwards, nothing too fast, then a mile cool down. Good day, fun to get back into racing.
