Around 2 miles for a shakeout run in the morning before watching Rachel run in the seeded 1600. She did great. Then we went back to the house and chilled. There wasn't a whole lot to do, so we watched some bball, wrestled a little bit, and snapchatted women. At about 5 we went back over to the track for the rest of our races. I ran my warm up alone and got back with barely enough time to throw my spikes on and get on the track, a little hectic. I ran in the first heat of the Elite mile. They lined us up really weird, so I was on the very outside stagger even though I had one of the fastest times in the heat. Didn't really matter though, and I got out good. I even led the first lap because no one else would really take the lead. Rest of the race went okay. I just sat in 3rd/4th until the last 200m and kicked but just missed the leader and got passed by another guy at the last second. The first 4 of us were within half a second so it was pretty tight. Ended up running the full mile in 4:26.79, and through 1600 at 4:25.25, which is about a second PR.  Not bad for a season opener (I don't really count Hurricane as the season opener), but lots of room for improvement. Cooled down a little by myself, then some with the 3200 guys before their race, and with Laynee and Rachel a little more after her race. The 3200 guys kicked butt. Jaiden ran 9:26 (new school record), Josh ran 9:33, and Sage went 9:44. Then Laynee went 11:22 (new school record). Pretty awesome meet for everybody. Excited for Pine View next week and to run against some in-state competition.

Watched the video of your heat on runnerspace. You ran a really smart race. Great start to the year.
