Went for a couple of shakeout runs earlier in the day to stay loose for my race later in the evening. 4:45 was the scheduled time for the race but they were a little behind so I think I raced a little after 5 or 5:30. I think I timed everthing really well, and I was in the bullpen for less than 5 minutes, which was a first. It seems like usually I'm in there for an hour. I was a little nervous at the line because I was the very outside person and I wanted to get out well, so I was a little tense and almost jumped before the gun. Got out into a good position, and stayed there for about 700m, but kind of got boxed in on the last turn and really tightened up last 100m, fell from 5th to 10th on the last straight. If I would have run 1 second faster I would have been 5th in my heat insted of 10th, and 6th overall instead of 13th. Overall, not a bad race, but I know I could've done better. I have put in some quality workouts the past couple weeks that are really going to help me at region and state. I just have to stay relaxed in the last 100m and trust it.
