Slept in this morning and then just sat around so I didn't end up running until about 2:30. I think it was about 105 degrees today, but the heat didn't really bother me until about the second mile when it really hit me. After 2 miles I got to the trails and ran there for another mile before turning around. By mile 3 I had to stop and stand in the shade of a big billboard for a couple minutes to cool off. On the way back the heat was really causing me to struggle. I stopped at a park with about 2 miles left to get some water. After that the heat started messing with my head. I'd only been out for about 35 minutes but I felt like I'd been running for at least an hour and I was nervous if I'd even make it back by 4:00. I took a shortcut on the way back because I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to make it, but luckily I had to go out of my way a little bit to get the water from the park so I still got 6 miles in.

I was surprised how hot it was today, I guess I just forgot how hot it gets. I need to drink a lot more water because I drank hardly any today before my run, so I definitely need to do that.

Nice work with getting out in the heat. it is a confidence boost to do this. You realized it will be easier if you go out earlier though! Keep up the good work!
