3 easy in the morning to Hidden Valley.

7 easy out in the desert after school. Freakin' hot so that sucked. 4x300m finishes afterwards. Still hot.

3 easy in the morning to the bridge.

We did our workout at 9pm to sort of get ready for our night-race on Saturday at Woodbridge. It was a latter workout on the track: 2 4 8 12 16 12 8 4 2. Not a great workout for me today. My legs felt flat and I was a few seconds off my times. I didn't feel spectacular but I tried to finish it off strong and that was good.

No morning practice because of the late workout last night.

6.5 miles easy in the afternoon. Felt like I was running on the sun. As soon as we got back though, the sky unleashed the rain of a thousand rains on us for about 20 minutes. Stupid weather.

3 in the morning to Hidden Valley.

In the afternoon we did a 2 mile power run on the track, with some cut-down finishes afterwards (400, 350, 300, 250, 200, 150). Felt pretty good, definitely better than Tuesday. Excited to head down to California tomorrow!

After first period we headed down to California for the Woodbridge Classic in Irvine. The girls were racing tonight but we don't race until tomorrow night, so we jogged around the course and watched some races before heading over to the house. Then we went back to the course and watched the girls race. They did well and it was fun to watch.

In the morning we did a little shakeout run over by Disneyland to get the legs loose. We didn't race until 10 at night so we had to keep ourselves entertained at the house for quite a while. We ended up wrapping up all the girls stuff in Christmas wrapping paper while they were at the beach. It was pretty funny. We ate dinner and I took a short nap before heading over to the race. We warmed up and headed over to the starting line. The starting positions were first come first serve, and we were one of the last teams over so we didn't get a very good spot. Racing against these California teams was WAY different. I got out okay but I wasn't aggressive with keeping a good position, and I let too many people get in front of me. I was in last place on our team at the mile so that wasn't good, and I spent most of the race just trying to catch up with our team. I finished strong, but when I was done I felt like I hardly raced at all. Still felt like I ran well, just not nearly hard enough. Our team was 5th against some really good California teams, and we were only 15 points away from 2nd place. Lots to improve on still, but we will have another good week of training and a big race at Nebo on Friday.
