3 in the morning to Hidden Valley. 20 minute tempo run in the afternoon. Wasn't feeling too good, been feeling a little sick since Saturday so I didn't do to good today. Starting to feel a little better though so I should be back up to normal soon.

3 in the morning to The Spectrum. We ran up in Brian Head at a race that Parowan was putting on this afternoon. We were supposed to treat it like a work out and focus on keeping a good pack and staying relaxed for the first part of the race then hammer the last half. It was a tough course but it was also really fun and beautiful up there! The middle section was all uphill so it was tough transitioning into a fast pace once we got to the top, but it was a good push and a good workout for me. Felt pretty good.

Race day! This morning we drove up to Maple Mountain High School for the Nebo Invitational. It was pretty cold and wet, so after our first little warm up, my feet were soaked and freezing. I forgot to bring extra socks so when it came race time, I honestly couldn't feel my feet. But I told myself that I was going to race hard and not let it affect me. It was a pretty crowded start so I didn't get out as well as I wanted to, but I stayed positive and ran hard. When I was finishing, I think I felt too good, and wasn't as tired as I have been in past races. I was a little upset because I know that I had more in me and didn't leave it all on the course. I still think that I haven't raced my best yet and I'm looking forward to running some gutsy races for the rest of the season!

Today we got up early and ran the state course a couple times, with some 1:00 pick-ups on the second time around, nothing too fast, just trying to stay relaxed and focused. The course was blanketed with frost, which made for some pretty cold toes! Really trying to start focusing and visualizing for region and state. I think that I can do really well and that our team can do really well at region and state, but we have to start really focusing up. It is going to be a very important next couple of weeks.
