3200- First race of the day, and it went alright. My plan was to be pretty passive with my position for the first 800m so I didn't waste any unnecessary energy at the beginning of a longer race like the 3200. I think I was in last place for 700m and I started to surge on the straights to pass people and work up to the lead pack. I finally caught up to them on the 5th lap, but only because we split around 1:20 for that lap, haha. There were a lot of pace changes, and I ended up falling a little behind again on the 6th lap. I felt way tired, but pushed hard the last 800 and was able to take 5th. Pretty fun race again, but I think I could've done better if I ran a little differently, but who knows.

800- Last race of my high school career! The plan was to just go out and stick with the leaders as long as I could. My start wasn't great, and I got forced to the very back in the first 200m. I haven't gotten out that bad since I was a sophomore! I didn't panic though and just told myself I had to go to plan B. I went through 800 in last place, and a little slow (:59), so I knew I would have a good kick. I started moving with 300 to go and passed people one by one, ended up 5th, half a second away from taking 3rd, so I think I was certainly capable of a top 3 finish if I had gotten out better.

Glad I got the chance to run at state this year and be part of another record breaking team! We scored 175 points, the 3A points record, while winning our 3rd straight state title in track. Pretty awesome experience.
