In the morning we did a little shakeout run over by Disneyland to get the legs loose. We didn't race until 10 at night so we had to keep ourselves entertained at the house for quite a while. We ended up wrapping up all the girls stuff in Christmas wrapping paper while they were at the beach. It was pretty funny. We ate dinner and I took a short nap before heading over to the race. We warmed up and headed over to the starting line. The starting positions were first come first serve, and we were one of the last teams over so we didn't get a very good spot. Racing against these California teams was WAY different. I got out okay but I wasn't aggressive with keeping a good position, and I let too many people get in front of me. I was in last place on our team at the mile so that wasn't good, and I spent most of the race just trying to catch up with our team. I finished strong, but when I was done I felt like I hardly raced at all. Still felt like I ran well, just not nearly hard enough. Our team was 5th against some really good California teams, and we were only 15 points away from 2nd place. Lots to improve on still, but we will have another good week of training and a big race at Nebo on Friday.
